Welcome, we’re very pleased you are interested in learning to row with the Central Alberta Rowing Club.
If you have never rowed before and are interested in learning how, we will be running an adult Learn-to-Row course on May 26th and 27th. The cost for the course is $100 per person, payable online by credit card, or by cash/cheque on the first day of the course. The course will start on Friday evening (6-8 pm) and run all day Saturday (9-3).
The aim of this course is to get you familiarized with the equipment and the functional parts of the rowing boat, and you will also learn the principles and terminology related to the rowing stroke and some basic water safety as it pertains to rowing. By the end of the course, you will have acquired a basic understanding of Canadian Rowing Technique, and be able to apply that knowledge out on the water. And as a bonus, you’ll have a ton of fun and get to meet new people!
You can register for the Learn-to-Row course on the Rowing Canada Aviron website. Select province = Alberta and organization = Central Alberta Rowing Club.
